The lab is a modern, state-of-the-art laboratory with highly trained scientists providing analytical solutions that improve quality systems and quality of life. It consists of three technical departments namely Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Microbiology.

Project description
Our valued partner has over 15 years’ experience of facilitating students and volunteers all over Mauritius. The lab provides analytical services in line with the ISO 17025 standard and go beyond this to help clients in developing their systems and projects through transparent communication and cooperation. The fields where they focus their analytical services are: Agro industry, Environmental, Food Testing, Forensic Toxicology, Pharma/Cosmetic. Our container inspection services are based on the ISO 17020 international standard and have been designed for clients with the need for reassurance on the process of container stuffing and unstuffing as well as their individual quality criteria and processes. The last field of expertise is Sampling Services includes a team of highly-experienced analytical scientists with training in the technical requirements for different types of sampling situations and in the design of statistically relevant sampling plans.
Goal: helping our clients and partners to improve the quality and safety of their processes, products and systems through offering high quality, timely analytical solutions, while developing a world-recognized expertise through development of its staff and finally cultivating a sustainable shareholder value.
The internship
Role of the intern:
Aiming for skills transfer next to leaving behind materials and methods that can be used in terms of sustainability such as a research report.

*Reimbursement/stipend: Usually students get an amount between 150 and 250 euro per month to cover expenses. In hotels you can get more stipend, up to around 400 euro per month & free housing if you speak a language that is required, such as German, Russian, Chinese.
The costs
Accommodation type: Self-catering student room other options on request
Cost per month: Approximately €250 (paid locally before the 5th of each month to landlord)
– A deposit of 250 euro must be paid as warranty to cover any damages or outstanding payments
– Visa Mauritius: Free of charge
